June marks the halfway point in the year – an ideal time to pause, reflect, and reassess. For some, January brings a fresh slate and a neatly written list of resolutions. For others, goals evolve more quietly, shaped by the rhythms and pace of everyday life. However you approach it, midyear is a natural checkpoint: What’s working? What’s shifted? What still matters?

At AMSG, we’ve seen all kinds of goals take shape across our team – personal, professional, and everything in between. One great example comes from our Veterans Resource Group (VRG), which kicked off 2025 with a “New Year, New You” wellness challenge. The New Year’s Resolution Challenge encouraged personal and professional growth by inviting staff to set and pursue meaningful goals together starting in January and lasting till April. With 11 participants, the challenge highlighted the power of accountability and teamwork in staying motivated and committed. It was a strong and spirited start to the year – and a reminder that even small, consistent steps can make a meaningful impact on our overall well-being and focus.

This season has also had me reflecting on one of my own long-term goals: completing the Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Program, a global series of six iconic marathons held in Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York City. As of this year, I’ve checked off four: New York, Chicago, Tokyo, and London.

I won’t pretend it’s been easy. But I’ve kept showing up, one race at a time. Each race has come with its own set of challenges. The logistics, intense training, early mornings, long flights, and the constant balancing act with work and family life. But what keeps me going is the steady rhythm of progress, the community that cheers me on, and the reminder that perseverance (just one step at a time) adds up to something powerful.

In a blog I wrote last year, “Running the Extra Mile: Redefining the Balance Between Career, Motherhood, and Marathon Dreams”, I reflected on some of this. I shared how running became more than a personal challenge. Running has become a lens through which I’ve learned to pace myself through long-term commitments, whether in work or in running shoes. Some seasons are smooth and strong. While others feel uphill all the way. But regardless of the terrain, progress still happens when you stay in motion.

Whether hitting your 2025 goals or adjusting course and setting your sights on something new, this is your midyear check-in to take stock. Revisit those goals you set in January or create new ones that reflect where you are now. Because whether the win is big or incremental, what matters most is that you keep going. Stay in motion and whatever you do, keep moving forward.
