AMSG NAMES NEW CEO President and COO Jim O’Farrell to succeed Mike McCormick in CEO role

(AMSG) Washington, DC Metro Area Advanced Management Strategies Group, Inc., (AMSG), a management and technology consulting firm headquartered in the Washington, DC metropolitan region, with work locations nationwide, announced Tuesday that Jim O’Farrell has transitioned into the Role of CEO effective September 28, 2021.
Mr. O’Farrell joined AMSG in 2010 as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) and has led the company’s growth into numerous federal agencies including Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Department of Defense (DoD) and several others, while helping the company scale its capabilities and business processes to address the growth in employee headcount and business partner and stakeholder relationships. ”I am thrilled to be leading AMSG as the Chief Executive Officer as we work side by side with our customers, business partners and stakeholders in the years ahead to serve THEIR Missions, continuing to build a legacy of service to our country and our communities. Since leaving the Navy in 1994, Mr. O’Farrell has gained years of experience providing executive management and consulting support throughout the federal government. He has a broad base of expertise in both customer-facing (strategy, management and technology consulting, business development, sales, and marketing) and business management functions (Services Delivery Management, Quality, HR, Contracts Management, and Finance). Prior to joining AMSG, Mr. O’Farrell held positions of varying responsibility up to and including COO with government contractors such as KPMG Consulting, Booz Allen Hamilton, EDS and American Management Systems.
A strong advocate for the military veteran, military family and caregiver communities, Mr. O’Farrell has been motivated to serve by supporting transitioning military personnel, assisting wounded warriors and supporting important public service initiatives that connect the 99% of our population that have never served with the 1% who have. Mr. O’Farrell currently serves as Vice Chair of the Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP) and previously served as Chair of the US Small Business Administration’s Advisory Committee on Veterans Business Affairs (ACVBA) – whose charter is to help military veterans start and grow businesses across all industries. Each year, the ACVBA produces a report to Congress, The White House and the SBA providing recommendations for programs to support veteran entrepreneurs. Mr. O’Farrell initiated AMSG’s support of New York City-based Headstrong Project, with the motto, “Healing the Hidden Wounds of War”, has been the Race Director of the Travis Manion Foundation’s (TMF) Alexandria, VA 9/11 Heroes Run 5K with over 1,500 participants, participated as a guest speaker at TMF Veteran Transition Workshops, and currently organizes an annual TMF Operation Legacy Veterans Day of Service, with participation of over 400 high school students, veterans and community leaders from the local community.
Mr. O’Farrell has also planned and delivered numerous TMF Character Does Matter Program presentations with other military veterans in the DC Metro area to encourage the next generation of leaders to be leaders of Character. Mr. O’Farrell is a graduate of the U.S Naval Academy and has an MBA from Averett University.
