May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to step back and recognize something that impacts all of us, not just at work or home, but everywhere.
The conversation around mental health has come a long way, but what matters most is what we do with that awareness. It can be as simple as checking in on a colleague, creating space for honest conversations, or taking a moment to reset and recharge. Small actions, repeated over time, are what build healthier teams and stronger communities.
Organizations also play an important role in making support accessible and removing the stigma around asking for help. Having the right resources in place can make it easier for people to take that first step, whether that is speaking with a professional, building better habits, or learning how to support someone else.
At AMSG, we are fortunate to partner with organizations like Insperity and Optum®, who provide access to tools and services that support emotional and behavioral health. From counseling and coaching to everyday wellness resources, these offerings help ensure our team members and their families have support when they need it most.
Equally important is education. Programs like the Be There certificate course are helping individuals better recognize when someone may be struggling and how to respond with empathy and care, something that extends far beyond the workplace.
Mental health is not a one-month conversation. It is an ongoing commitment to showing up for ourselves and for each other. This month is simply a reminder to start, or continue, that effort.
