Hi, I’m Justin Rogers, a SharePoint and Power Platform Developer at AMSG, where I support the Aviation Center of Excellence. My job is all about transformation: taking old-school, pen-and-paper workflows and modernizing them with sleek, digital solutions. Whether it’s automating repetitive tasks or building tools from the ground up, I help teams work smarter so they can focus on what really matters.

Using SharePoint and the Power Platform, I build tools and automate workflows that make daily tasks faster, easier, and more efficient so teams can focus on what really matters instead of getting bogged down in manual work. It’s rewarding to see how something as simple as an automated form or a dashboard can free up hours of someone’s day. This kind of impact, quiet but powerful, is what motivates me.

Beyond the Screen: My Passion for Precision

I’ve always loved hands-on hobbies, anything that makes me focus, solve problems, and push myself to improve. I’ve dabbled in everything from gaming and disc golf to bowling, wrenching on cars, building custom PCs, and fishing. If it challenges my focus and helps me grow, I’m in.

Lately, I’ve taken that mindset to a new arena: Archery.

Thanks to AMSG’s Hobby Program, I had the chance to try something totally new. It requires the same precision, patience, and discipline I bring to my development work, but with a whole new kind of focus. It’s not just about hitting a target. It’s about slowing down, tuning in, and pushing yourself to be a little better with each shot.

I chose to pursue archery because it didn’t look easy. It looed like something I could spend a lot of time on and continuously improve at. I’ve only been practicing for about three months, usually in my backyard whenever I have time. While practicing with a few buddies who also recently got into archery, I accidentally put an arrow through my neighbor’s wooden fence. That incident made it pretty clear I needed to find a new place to practice!

AMSG: More Than Just a Workplace

Of course, none of this would be possible without the support I’ve received from AMSG. In the short seven months I’ve been here, AMSG has gone out of their way to make me feel like more than just an employee. From generous gift cards and thoughtful birthday gifts to sending flowers for my father’s funeral and even a care package when I was recovering from COVID, they’ve shown up for me in ways that matter and truly make me feel valuable. They even sent my mom a gift card for Mother’s Day. That small act meant the world to both of us. Previous contracts I have worked over the years dating back to 2021 have never made me feel at home like AMSG has.

On top of that, Professionally, AMSG continues to invest in my professional growth, covering the cost of a certification course so I can stay sharp and up to date in my field. It’s rare to find a company that not only values your skills but also genuinely cares about you as a person, and I’m genuinely thankful to be part of this team.

Moving Forward with Purpose

As I continue to improve, I’ve started thinking about what’s next. I will begin bowhunting this deer season so I’m really looking forward to putting all this practice to use. Maybe local competitions. Either way, archery has opened a whole new world where I can challenge myself both mentally and physically, while also reconnecting with nature.

Whether I’m building digital solutions during the day or lining up a shot with my bow in the evening, I’m constantly learning how to focus on what matters, on where I’m going, and on the people who help me get there.
